Concept Systems is proud to offer LengthScanPro™, a revolutionary, cost effective Log Bucking System. Designed to deliver the information you need to make informed Bucking decisions, LengthScanPro™ utilizes state-of-the-art technology to deliver accuracies unmatched with this level of simplicity. Based on Concept’s LMS technology, LengthScanPro™ delivers length accuracies to +/- 1”, fully compensating for slippage. The result is Bucking solutions based on accurate data, which equals improved recovery. Designed to retrofit close coupled systems, LengthScanPro™ can be integrated to most any system. Log length can be measured at virtually any 90-degree turn, regardless of the logs’ direction of travel.

The LMS is based on time-of-flight laser technology. The Laser RADAR technology maps the surrounding environment, and returns a series of distances in Cartesian coordinates. LengthScanPro™ then filters out the fixed structural obstructions and uses the coordinates to calculate the distance of material to be measured. Each sweep of the Laser RADAR unit takes approximately 50ms, and is processed in real-time by the system, with accuracies of +/- 1” at eighty feet.

The Solution Generator uses a priority-based bucking formula designed to minimize trim loss, while bucking to the operator’s priorities. Based on length and either small end diameter, large end diameter, leading end diameter, trailing end diameter, and/or taper class the Solution Generator will generate solutions tailored to your needs.
